Cho
Krung was established in 1976 by
Supa Kuntee's family.
Chao Krung was the second Thai
restaurant in Los Angeles. The
restaurant became an instant hit
with lines of customers often
waiting patiently outside to sample
the "Exotic" taste of Thailand. As
one of Los Angeles oldest Thai
restaurant.
Chao Krung has become well known in
the community and it has been
featured in the Los Angeles Times
restaurant review several times.
Chao Krung Restaurant had been
featured in the HBO movie called
"The Late Shift". From that day
celebrity such as, Katy Bates, Holly
Hunter, and John Malkovich to name a
few, all have enjoyed the wonderful
taste of Thai Cuisine at Chao Krung
Restaurant.
Chao Krung Restaurant is not only
known for the authentic Thai
Cuisine, it's also well-known for
the unique interior design.
Chao Krung Restaurant is one of Los
Angeles most elaborately decorated
restaurant outside Bangkok. From the
moment customers enter the door they
are greeted by a life size "Naang
Kwak" statue, bidding them welcome.
A hugh mural of Chao Praya
river-bank and blacklighted window
boxes also add to the ambiance of
the restaurant. The walls are
covered with Teak wood panels and
detailed with Burmese tapestries. A
illuminated wood "Sala" roof covers
the bar at one end. The most
compliment would be the service
staffs who are wearing their
beautiful traditional Thai costumes.
Into the new century, the
tradition of Chao Krung Restaurant
is carried on. Our goal is to bring
you authentic taste of Thai cuisine
and the wonderful service with a
smile. We have been doing it since
1976
